Augustine Camino Route Talk
THE AUGUSTINE CAMINO: A PILGRIMAGE THROUGH KENT
Discover the Augustine Camino, a week-long pilgrimage through the Kent countryside from Rochester Cathedral, via Canterbury, to the Shrine of St Augustine in Ramsgate.
Join Andrew Kelly, Route Director of the Augustine Camino, as he shares the story behind the route, its connection with the famous Camino de Santiago, and what it’s really like to walk it.
Along the way, discover stories of saints, craftsmen and other fascinating characters, the remarkable variety of sacred places encountered on the route and the beautiful Kentish landscape that welcomes hundreds of pilgrims each year.
A lifelong long-distance walker and parishioner at St Augustine’s in Ramsgate, Andrew and his wife Paula have spent the past ten years developing a pilgrimage that is beautiful, sacred and practical – right down to accommodation along the route and, importantly, a welcoming country pub for lunch on most days!
The talk lasts approximately one hour and takes place at Ramsgate Space, Albert Court, Ramsgate.
Refreshments will be available.
Whether you’re a keen walker, interested in local history and pilgrimage, or simply curious about a Camino that ends right here in Ramsgate, come along and discover the journey.
