About this Event
More than six decades ago, a group of leaders made a bold bet that a research park in the pine forests between three universities could transform North Carolina’s economy. That bet became Research Triangle Park, and its success reshaped the region and the state.
Now, as RTP enters a new era, The Assembly Network invites community leaders to a special evening showcasing where the park came from, what it has meant for North Carolina, and where it goes next.
Program:
- Doors Open, Networking & Welcome | 4:30–5:00 p.m.
Connect with fellow community leaders before opening remarks on RTP’s legacy and impact on North Carolina’s economy. - The evening opens with a fireside chat with Mack Paul, author of , on the vision and the people behind the park’s founding.
- Assembly reporters will then lead a panel with Triangle leaders, discussing RTP’s transformation, the opportunities and challenges shaping its next era, and how RTP 3.0 can build on the strengths that made the park a national model.
Join us for an evening of reflection and engaged discussion about one of North Carolina’s defining institutions and the future of economic growth in the Triangle.
