Join us for an Artist's Eye talk at the Kimbell, connecting the art of the past to the present. Distinguished Texas painter and influential educator Jim Woodson is known for his deeply felt interpretations of the arid yet spiritual landscapes of the American Southwest—paintings that move beyond traditional representation to act as meditative spaces where perception, memory, and time converge, making him not just a painter of places but a painter of inner experience.
The program is moderated by art historian Mark Thistlethwaite, author of the newly published book "The Art of Jim Woodson: Landscape and the Poetics of Place," celebrating fifty years of painting by his fellow emeritus professor at Texas Christian University.
The Artist's Eye is free and open to the public. Learn more: https://kimbellart.org/event/artists-eye-46
