The Art of the Anointing:
Yule Glow
As the year reaches its longest night, we gather to pause, reflect, and welcome the turning of the season.
Yule Glow is a hands-on anointing oil workshop inspired by the Winter Solstice and the ancient rhythm of darkness giving way to returning light.
Together, we’ll explore two sides of the season: the light we are ready to welcome and the darkness we are ready to acknowledge.
You’ll create two personal anointing oils to take home:
☀️The Return of the Sun
A warm, radiant blend created around the intention of welcoming something into the light. As you create, you’ll be invited to reflect:
“What am I ready to welcome into the light?”
🌑Darkness Within
A grounding blend inspired by shadow, boundaries, protection, and making space for the parts of ourselves we don’t always bring into the light. Your reflection:
“What darkness am I ready to acknowledge and embrace?”
This isn’t about banishing the dark or forcing ourselves to be positive. The Winter Solstice reminds us that both darkness and light have a place in the cycle.
There is wisdom in the quiet.
There is warmth in the returning sun.
And sometimes, there is something worth discovering in the shadows.
During the workshop, you’ll:
• Learn a little about the symbolism and folklore surrounding the Winter Solstice and Yule
• Explore the aromatic and traditional folklore associations of selected herbs and essential oils
• Choose botanicals and crystal elements to personalize your intentions
• Create two beautiful anointing oil roll-ons
• Spend time with guided reflection and journaling prompts
• Enjoy a cup of cozy Sanctum tea while you create
• Leave with your two finished potions and a reflection guide to continue your seasonal practice at home
No previous experience with herbs, essential oils, crystals, or ritual is necessary. Come exactly as you are.
You don’t have to be deeply familiar with Yule or the Winter Solstice to enjoy this experience. Whether you see this as seasonal reflection, creative self-care, spiritual practice, or simply time spent making something beautiful, there is room for you at the table.
