A Two-Part Workshop with Award-Winning Boulder Artist Gretchen Acharya
Tuesdays, Dec. 1st & 8th, 2 to 4:30 each day
Discover the vibrant, expressive world of soft pastels in this hands-on workshop led by accomplished Boulder artist Gretchen Acharya. Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and individual instruction, you'll learn Gretchen's distinctive approach to painting natural subjects. Participants will explore how to use color, light, shadow, and texture to bring a landscape or natural subject to life.
Across two 2.5-hour sessions, Gretchen will guide you from initial sketches and composition through layering colors and adding finishing details. Whether you're discovering pastels for the first time or looking to expand your artistic skills, you'll enjoy a welcoming, creative environment and leave with your own original artwork.
Beginners and intermediate artists welcome. All materials provided.
Participants will create a pastel landscape or tree portrait while learning the expressive qualities of pastels. You may bring your own photo for reference or select one provided by your instructor.
