The lecture will evolve around chosen work of Guja Dögg, architect cand.Arch. and writer, with the aim of giving an insight into her interdisciplinary approach to the multi-facetted art of architecture. In the short lecture, Guja Dögg will tell of her ongoing quest for a meaningful architecture, her search for subjective meaning in objective material and her belief that architecture is a poetic expression 'on par' with literature and other art forms. With a firm focus on research themes such as sensual versus intellectual, experiencing versus interpreting, nature versus culture and site versus place, Guja Dögg will traverse from her design project Narratives, Continued - writer's retreat at Kleifarvatn, through written project Poetics of Place - writing space, building text, with touch-downs on exhibition project Prefab - artistic expression from one turn of the century to another, to radio essays Architecture in Wide-Scope - cognitive perception and more.
