To see in colour is a delight for the eye; to see in black and white is a delight for the soul. We will examine how removing colour can transform ordinary subjects into striking visual elements, covering tonal range, contrast, composition and form, texture and detail. We will also cover the digital software workflow that has replaced the analogue darkroom, and how to previsualise a scene for black and white. Please bring your camera with a fully charged battery and memory cards. A flash and tripod are optional extras.
