About this Event
MORE THAN A WORKSHOP
Enter an immersive sensory environment where science, nature, and creative experimentation come together. This four-hour experience invites you to slow down, step away from familiar expectations, and discover a more intuitive relationship with aroma.
THE SCIENCE OF SCENT
Explore how our sense of smell works and how aroma connects to the brain, memory, emotion, and perception. Discover the science behind essential oils, absolutes, and other plant-derived aromatic materials, alongside the fundamentals of aromatic composition, blending, and essential oil safety.
AN INTUITIVE APPROACH TO AROMA
This is not a traditional perfume-making workshop. Rather than recreating designer fragrances, following conventional perfume formulas, or choosing ingredients based on their names, you'll be guided by your own sensory responses.
Through a curated sensory journey, you'll encounter botanical aromas, explore your reactions, and discover which scents draw you in. The focus is on what you experience, not what you think you should like.
As you progress, you'll use these discoveries to create a unique botanical composition. Individual aromas will interact to form a synergy shaped by your sensory experience and creative decisions.
Botanical compositions have their own distinct character and may smell very different from conventional synthetic perfumes. There is no predetermined result, no single formula to follow, and no expectation that your composition should resemble a familiar fragrance.
The intention isn't to choose a scent. It's to discover what resonates with you.

Experience level: Beginner-friendly. No prior knowledge of chemistry or perfumery is required.
Aromatic materials and safety: Essential oils and botanical extracts are concentrated materials requiring appropriate handling and dilution. Ingredients will be selected for their intended application, with relevant safety limits considered. Your finished composition: Every participant will create a unique blend guided by their own sensory discoveries.
