CAPE CORAL, Fla. — The Lee County Community Band invites Southwest Florida residents and visitors to “The American Journey: 1776–2026” on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Mariner High School, 701 Chiquita Blvd. N. in Cape Coral. Look for Band Concert signs at the corner of Chiquita and Tropicana for parking. GPS routes lead to a gate on Chiquita that does not grant access to the correct parking lot.
Admission is free.
The concert offers a musical reflection on 250 years of America’s story, honoring the people, ideals, and traditions that have shaped the nation. The program will feature the full sound and musical variety of the band’s volunteer musicians under the direction of conductor Kathy Lamb Williams.
With more than four decades of experience in music education, Williams brings a lifelong commitment to music and community performance. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from West Chester University and has taught band, orchestra, chorus, and general music.
Founded November 21, 1885, the Lee County Community Band is one of America’s oldest surviving community bands. Its volunteer musicians share their time and talent to bring live concert-band music to Southwest Florida.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome. For information, visit www.LeeCountyBand.org or email [email protected].
