About this Event
Featuring The Album Leaf, The Color Forty Nine, and Jesse Beaman, Trip 25 brings together three artists whose work moves across Ambient, Post-Rock, Experimental Folk, and Electronic Soundscapes for an evening of immersive sonic exploration inside one of San Diego's most unusual listening spaces for one-night-only!
Built within a 100+ year-old former bread factory in Logan Heights, The Silo Room is centered around four towering 40' tall empty steel grain silos whose natural resonance shapes every performance. The space has become known for intimate listening experiences, adventurous programming, and nights that feel as much like an installation as a concert. With only 100 guests admitted to each Trip, every performance remains close, intentional, and unique to the room.

Jimmy LaValle’s The Album Leaf has spun from solo outlet to full band and back in its 25+ years of artistry. The acclaimed catalog spans releases for labels such as Sub Pop, City Slang, Relapse, The Numero Group, Nettwerk, and others. LaValle also composes music for film and television, scoring 20+ projects since 2009. His ninth album, A Body Of Voices, released in October, is also his most collaborative. Featuring Twin Shadow, Maiah Manser, Black Mountain, Raphaelle Standell-Preston (of bands Braids & Blue Hawaii), Nicole Miglis (of the band Hundred Waters), TT (of band Warpaint), Spencer Zahn, and more, A Body Of Voices couldn't be a more fitting name. With a collaborator on nearly every track, this project blends electronic with dance, indie with downtempo, and trip-hop with ambient, resulting in a truly lush and mesmerizing listening experience from start to finish.
The Color Forty Nine is a San Diego-based alt-rock band known for their atmospheric, cinematic sound that blends gothic Americana, dream pop, and dark indie rock. Fronted by Phil Beaumont’s distinct baritone vocals and ukulele, and backed by a seasoned lineup featuring Matt Resovich, Jason Hooper, and Scott Mercado, the group’s music evokes the expansive, brooding landscapes of the Southwest borderlands. Drawing on their collective experience in prominent local indie acts like The Black Heart Procession the band crafts rich, textured arrangements using violin, keys, and ambient effects. Since debuting with their self-titled 2018 EP, they have earned critical acclaim and San Diego Music Award recognition for evocative releases like String Ladders (featuring a collaboration with Cafe Tacvba's singer, Ruben Albarran), and their full-length album A Whisper. They have toured through Mexico and Japan, and are currently working on a new album for 2027.
Jesse Beaman is a Nicaraguan-American composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music seamlessly dissolves the boundaries between modern classical, ambient electronica, and electro-acoustic. His nomadic upbringing—born in Miami, raised in New York City, and rooted in the Austin music scene—eventually led him to his current creative home in Mexico City.
Spanning more than a decade of international performances across over 20 countries in North America, South America, Europe and Australia, Beaman has cultivated a dedicated global cult following and starting to emerge into the spotlight on recent tours. He has collaborated with notable artists including INTERPOL band members Sam Fogarino and Brandon Curtis, Joe Berry (M83), and Hoshiko Yamane (Tangerine Dream). As a dedicated world touring performer since the age of 20, he has shared the stage as direct support on tours for Kazu Makino (Blonde Redhead) and This Will Destroy You, and has opened special concerts for highly acclaimed avant-garde acts such as Suzanne Ciani, CocoRosie, Julianna Barwick, Joan of Arc and A Silver Mt. Zion. On stage, Beaman captivates audiences by building complex, emotionally heavy soundscapes live from scratch, pairing his music with meticulously designed film projections to create a deeply evocative, multimedia live experience.
