The mission of the Actors Academy is to awaken the imagination, emotion, and intellect of the student artist by making him/her aware of the transforming power and universality of performance arts; and the skills required to achieve excellence.

We provide a platform for directors, acting coaches, casting agents, producers, and filmmakers to teach the techniques needed to develop and sustain a great performing arts career.

Adult Acting Classes (Ages 18+)

Class Description: This class introduces actors to the Meisner Technique and practical tools for creating authentic, truthful, and emotionally connected scene work. We will explore how listening, responding, repetition, and living truthfully under imaginary circumstances can strengthen an actor’s performance. Actors will learn techniques they can immediately apply to build stronger relationships and more believable moments within a scene. The focus is on being present, connected, and responsive rather than simply delivering lines.

Class Description: This class focuses on quick and effective script analysis for auditions, helping actors understand what is happening beneath the dialogue and make stronger performance choices. Drawing from Michael Shurtleff’s Audition, particularly the Twelve Guideposts, we will introduce tools for identifying relationships, conflict, humor, objectives, obstacles, and other key elements within a scene. Actors will learn how to break down material efficiently, even when given limited preparation time. The goal is to help actors walk into an audition with a clear understanding of the scene and a specific, playable point of view.

Class Description: Green screen acting requires performers to fully engage with environments, characters, and circumstances that may not physically exist on set. We will teach actors how to use their imagination, focus, physicality, and reactions to create believable scene work when props, locations, and visual elements will be added later. Actors will explore how to interact naturally with invisible characters, objects, and environments while maintaining continuity and emotional truth. This class prepares performers to bring authenticity to scenes where imagination is an essential part of the performance.

Class Description: This class explores scene work from the director’s perspective, focusing on the story, emotions, relationships, and visual choices that shape a scene. We will guide aspiring directors through determining what a scene should communicate and what emotional response they want to create for the audience. Participants will examine how blocking, performance, camera choices, pacing, and directorial vision work together to bring a scene to life. The class challenges directors to look beyond the dialogue and understand how every creative choice can serve the story.
