Set against Richmond’s hip-hop scene, the film follows the complicated intersection of music, ambition, friendship, love, and betrayal. As personal relationships collide with creative dreams, each character must decide what—and who—they are willing to risk in pursuit of the life they want.
Written and directed by Jameil Player, who also stars as Islam Rap God, The 8 God: For the Love of Hip-Hop features a talented cast of Richmond-area actors, artists, and cultural figures.
