About this Event

Welcome!

The 2025 New York City Literary (A)fair, where the future of BIPOC literature takes center stage. Our inaugural event will launch at the stunning Indigo Hotel Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY. This adults-only experience is not just a book fair - this is a showcase of storytelling, intellectualism, and style. Romances and memoirs, fiction and thrillers are showcased through the boldest voices of our people - authors both ancestral and modern. You can expect panels, readings, exclusive signings, and intimate events with your more sought-after authors. The Vibe? Black, brown, and unabashedly successful.

On October 17th, join us for an evening of networking, private shopping, and furthering literature for everyone. As we gather to celebrate shining authors, poets, and scholars, you will be treated to an intimate shopping experience within our vendor village with special discounts as you sip from our custom cocktails. Willow Hall at the Indigo Hotel Brooklyn is transformed into an immersive and upscale venue. Dinner, drinks, and surprises will ensure a night not to be forgotten. This elegant evening is curated and themed. Here, lovers of the written word understand that legacy is success, and come together to build together at our dinner. Check-in begins at 6pm.

The fireworks go off on October 18th at the very first Literary (A)fair!

You choose - panels, fireside chats, educational lounge, shopping, dining, meet and greets, activities - we offer a full day of excitement for everyone. Whether you choose to attend during our morning session, afternoon session, or all day, you will have plenty to do. This isn’t one of those places that you get lost in - we limit the number our attendees to make sure everyone has an enticing and curated experience. Swag for everyone, customized badges, and a chance to discuss reading, writing, and everything word-related await you!

Our Meet and Greets are built to provide both community and personal time over a gourmet assault on your taste buds - the breaking of bread leads to the building of communities and connections! The events are built for time to enjoy your food while listening to a riveting conversation or talk, followed by a book signing and photo-op with the guest of honor.

Spines and Spirits is the place to find literary friendship! Hosted by a celebrity, award-winning author, here is where you want to be if you are looking to connect with new people over your love of wordsmithery. Wit, interesting questions, and custom cocktails are the tools, and building new relationships is the job!

Join us at the mainstage for Black Literati Trivia! You must pass a multiple-choice test of 15 questions at our Services booth to sign up. Prizes include dinner for two, book baskets, gifts, and a cash prize for our winner!

Our panels, fireside chats, and interviews are catalystic and enticing - elevated conversations around the Art of the Word and how it influences other mediums. Romance, Thrillers, Fiction, and Memoir are the worlds we will be diving into - and welcome you along for the ride!

Join us for a time like no other!
