The $5,000 Lasso Toss – Denver's Wildest Free Contest

Presented by Denver Children's Foundation and National Western

The $5,000 Lasso Toss is a free, roping contest happening Saturday, May 16 from 12–5 PM at South Wynkoop Plaza in front of Union Station right in the heart of downtown Denver. No experience required. Just show up, sign in, and let it fly. All in support of the Denver Barn Party Concert happening on June 6th.

Each contestant gets one throw at three targets placed at different distances. Rope a target, win a prize, it's that simple.

Rope the 40-foot steer: WIN $5,000 CASH (max 2 winners, so come early!)

Rope the 25-foot steer: 2 FREE tickets to Denver Barn Party

Rope the 15-foot steer: $25 off up to 2 tickets to Denver Barn Party

• Entry is completely FREE
• All contestants must sign up with their email and agree to our waiver at check-in
• Each contestant gets one throw at each target: first at 40 ft, then 25 ft, then 15 ft
• A valid rope must land around both horns, around the neck, or half-head (loop around one horn + head, with one eye visible through the loop)
• Those who have competed in any professional rodeo event are ineligible to win the Grand Prize (background checks will be conducted after the event)
• $5,000 prize is capped at 2 winners

Beyond the roping contest, the plaza will be buzzing with country music, a classic car raffle, and National Western professional ropers. The event kicks off at noon with the "First Throw" a ceremonial opening lasso.
