About this Event
At The Highland Circle, we get together regularly to share a meal and explore questions that matter to our community - away from online debates, comment sections and algorithms that can so often divide us.
Everyone comes with a different story and perspective. The aim isn't to debate, convince others or even reach agreement, but to understand why people see things differently and connect across divides. All perspectives are welcome, as long as they're shared with kindness and respect.
This month's question is:
Do you have to be born and brought up in the Highlands to be a local?
It's a question that comes up time and again, but people often mean very different things when they talk about being a "local."
Is it something you're born into? Can it be earned? Is it about family roots, years spent here, contributing to the community, or simply choosing to build your life in the Highlands?
As always, we'll have 15 places available across different viewpoints:

We'll hear from people with different experiences and explore the stories behind their views. By understanding where each other is coming from, we'll take a deeper look at what it means to belong in the Highlands.
Whether you've lived here all your life, arrived recently, or fall somewhere in between, if you have a view, or are still working one out, you'll find people willing to listen and a conversation worth having.
