Overview of Course
You will be shown how to build the design using a ready-made template. Then learn how to create a moonlit leaping hare using machine appliqué and finishing the design with decorative embellishment to pull the fabric art wall hanging piece together.
What will I learn?
For this workshop you will learn how to create a festive Leaping Hare themed wall hanging, creating a machine embroidered Christmas decoration.
You will be given a template that will be a guide to creating the fabric leaping hare decorations using applique and machine embroidery stitches. You will be given various hand dyed fabrics, reclaimed printed fabrics, embroidery thread, reclaimed fabrics, reclaimed vintage lace. You will learn sewing machine fabric art methods to make your leaping hare design for the wall hanging. To finished hand-crafted decoration, you will then attach the design to a wooden hanger and finally, you will add embellishments to pull the festive leaping hare themed fabric wall hanging together.
This beautifully hand-crafted festive leaping hare themed decoration can be used as a keepsake or give as a beautifully hand-crafted gift.
Who is the course for?
The workshop is great for beginners and intermediate sewers who use a sewing machine and who would like to try something new using textiles to create art.
Will I have to provide anything?
You will be provided with all materials needed to create the festive fabric art collage piece. You will need to bring some fabric scissors as well as your own sewing machine, making sure that the machine has an embroidery foot attachment as this will be needed to create free style sewing with the machine (you can find an embroidery foot for your machine by searching on Amazon, key in the make of the sewing machine adding embroidery foot at the end of the sentence. Most brands of sewing machine will have their own make of embroidery foot or come with the embroidery foot).
Am I ready to start?
If you would like to attend this workshop and have do some festive crafting where you will also learn some fabric art methods, you are ready to start.
