Overview of Course
This is a creative Christmas cards fabric art workshop where you will be taught various collage and simplistic hand embroidery techniques.
You will be shown how to collage fabric onto an already handmade base, to create a landscape backdrop for a winter cottage design. You will then learn how to applique the cottage image over the landscape background that will have been created.
Once landscape and cottage images has been completed you will add detail using and embellishment to finish the fabric art Christmas Card.
What will I learn?
During this workshop you will be taught how to build fabric collage onto a readymade base. You will be given a kit that will contain a ready-made base to work on various hand dyed fabrics, printed fabrics, template, reclaimed fabrics, netting, vintage lace, embroidery thread, handmade buttons, recycled card with envelope and instruction book.
You will then be using hand embroidery methods and techniques to create a fabric collage Christmas card with step-by-step instruction throughout the workshop.
Who is the course for?
This workshop is great for beginners and intermediate sewers who would like to try something new using textiles to create fabric art.
Will I have to provide anything?
You will be provided with all the materials needed for the workshop.
Am I ready to start?
By attending this workshop, you will learn some of my tips and tricks used the create fabric art. Come along and have a little crafty festive fun.
