Overview of Course
In this workshop you will build a fabric textile art vase through collaging and applique onto a fine mesh base. You will try a combination of hand-crafted techniques to create a decorative fabric vase piece.
What will I learn?
For this workshop you will be taught how to create a collage themed fabric vase that will be free standing and can be used to hold died flowers.
You will be given a vase base template that will be a guide to creating a vase piece and a prepared fabric patches to build the collage design. By using applique and simplistic embroidery stitches, you will use fabric art methods to build a collaged fabric vase.
Throughout the workshop you will use various hand dyed fabrics, reclaimed printed fabrics, embroidery thread, reclaimed vintage lace and lastly adding embellishment to pull the seascape themed vase together.
Once finished, you will have your very own beautifully hand-crafted seascape themed fabric vase that can be used to hold dried flowers and is a gorgeous keeps sake or give as a beautifully hand-crafted gift.
Who is the course for?
The workshop is aimed at leaners who would like to try something new and who would like to have a go at mix media fabric art. It is great for beginners and intermediate sewers no need to be artistic as you will be fully guided on how to make the fabric vase.
Will I have to provide anything?
You will be provided with all the materials needed for the workshop.
Am I ready to start?
If you would like to attend this class, love crafting and would like to learn some mix media methods that are transferable in the fabric art then you are ready to start.
