Get ready to swap stories and choose your own crafting adventure! We are thrilled to partner with Inks & Drinks for a fantastic afternoon combining our classic book swap with your choice of a beginner-friendly terrarium workshop OR a custom macramé class.

What is NOT included?
🚫 The cost of the craft you choose to build. Crafts are paid for on-site and are completely customizable to your budget:
🏺 Terrariums: Cute, small options start at just $10–$15, with the average build landing around $40–$50. Every item is clearly labeled so you can track your total as you build.
🧶 Macramé: Price is based on the length of cords you choose, ranging from $25–$45, with most designs landing right around $30.
How The Crafts Work
ou can choose to do either of these projects at your own pace during the event!
🪴 Option 1: The Terrarium Workshop
- Step-by-Step Shopping: First, you'll shop for your container. The container price includes all your substrate and fun decorative toppings—plants are priced separately! Next, you'll browse the plant selection. Grab as many as catch your eye, and the expert staff will come around to help you narrow it down and choose the absolute best plants for your specific container.
- Guided Building & Care: Once your plants are selected, the staff will bring the rest of the building steps to your table in the exact right order. They will teach you all about the care and upkeep of your new ecosystem, and then you get to finish it off with fun toppings and decorations!
- Great for "Plant Murderers": Brand new to plants? No worries! Most of the designs use a water basin at the bottom filled with LECA, meaning you can literally see exactly when to water your plants instead of guessing.
🌙 Option 2: Master Macramé
- Pick Your Base & Pattern: Create and learn the beautiful art of macramé! First, you choose what you want to hang it from, like sticks, moons, or a ton of other fun shapes. Then, you choose your patterns. The designs can be interchanged or added onto any stick, and you can decide exactly how in-depth you want to go.
- Go At Your Own Pace: If you get too busy mingling and chatting about books, this project is super easy to take home and finish at your own pace!
- Learn the Basics: We recommend sticking to the smaller sizes for this event, but once you get the hang of a few knots, you can make anything! You will leave knowing enough to create massive, gorgeous statement pieces at home.
How Do Our Book Swap Events Work?
🔄 Step 1: Please bring at least 1 book to participate, more if you're able!
🎒 Step 2: Lay out your books on the tables
📚 Step 3: Browse through other people’s books
🧐 Step 4: You may grab up to 2 new (to you) books to take home with you
🏠 Step 5: Stick around and mingle with fellow book lovers!
👯♀️ Step 6: The leftover books get circulated back into future book swap events as well as donated to Little Free Libraries around Denver and BookGive!

Important Details & Logistics
Parking at Inks & Drinks: Free parking is available for the first 4 hours in the lot to the Northwest of the building, or on the South side of the Alamo/Origin Hotel. Guest parking is also available in the Aspire Parking Garage (enter via the Northeast corner). Please note that street parking is paid parking.
