TEFAF Maastricht is widely recognized as the world’s premier fair for fine art, antiques, and design, showcasing an impressive 7,000 years of art history under one roof. The event features over 260 prestigious dealers from approximately 20 countries, presenting a remarkable array of artworks currently on the market. The fair covers various traditional areas, including Old Master paintings, antiques, and classical antiquities, which account for about half of the exhibition space. Additionally, visitors can explore modern and contemporary art, photography, jewelry, 20th-century design, and works on paper. This significant gathering attracts art professionals and enthusiasts from around the globe, including private and institutional collectors, art consultants, interior designers, students, and those with a keen interest in culture. To ensure the highest standards, around 200 experts organized into 30 specialist vetting committees meticulously examine every object for sale, assessing them for condition, quality, and authenticity. The Art Loss Register supports this rigorous vetting process, allowing potential buyers to make purchases with confidence. TEFAF Maastricht is organized into ten distinct sections, including Ancient Art, Antiques, Design, Jewelry, Modern & Contemporary Art, Paintings, Works on Paper, Showcase, Focus, and Arts of Africa & Oceania. The fair's unique curational Focus section highlights solo artists, showcasing masterpieces of Abstract Expressionism, Scandinavian and De Stijl design, and expositions on French Realist painting, African Modernist ceramics, and American photography for the upcoming edition in 2026. Furthermore, the TEFAF Showcase provides a platform for the next generation of art dealers, featuring nine galleries from seven different countries that unveil treasures spanning 1,000 years of art history. This offering reflects the diversity of objects, mediums, and periods represented at the fair. In addition to the exhibitions, TEFAF Maastricht hosts a rich lineup of programming that connects collectors and visitors with leading experts from the global art community, fostering discussions on industry insights and inspiring both new and experienced art collectors and lovers.
