Described as “a new kind of horror remake”, Jane Schoenbrun's latest film is a referential ode to horror and the all-consuming culture that surrounds it in the internet era. With Hacks star Hannah Einbinder leading the film as the fresh-eyed director, and the legendary actor Gillian Anderson as the original “final girl” of the ‘Miasma’ franchise.

An enthusiastic director hopes to resurrect a once-adored slasher franchise after years of half-hearted sequels and dwindling fan engagement. The key to the newest Camp Miasma film’s success, she believes, is found in bringing back the franchise’s original ‘final girl’ as her leading star. Her visit to the reclusive star becomes something the director never imagined, as she soon becomes infatuated with the ageing actress, and a world of desire, blood and delirium consumes both women.
