About this Event
Before you can figure out where you're going, do you actually know where you are?
TEDxJacksonville: You Are Here arrives Jan 16, 2027 at UNF’s Lazzara Performance Hall. If you've ever asked Where am I? How did I get here? What can I do from right here?, this day is for you.
Staying present is hard when nearly everything around you is designed to pull you somewhere else. You Are Here is a day to stop, look around, and see what comes into focus.
New to TEDx? Expect fast, focused talks from eleven scientists, strategists, conservationists, and community builders. Between talks, interactive activations bring the ideas off the stage and into your hands, and lunch and our post-show AfterGlow give you room to keep the conversations going with the people around you. You'll leave with stories that stay with you, frameworks you can use, and connections worth keeping.
We'll explore:
- Why kindness may be medicine's most underused treatment
- What happens when engineers treat a community's history as "out of scope"
- How AI is changing what it means to learn, and to think for ourselves
- Why the fear of being one person against an enormous problem rests on a false premise
- Why you don't have to love your job to thrive in it
- What a hard childhood builds, not just what it breaks
- Why stability can feel scarier than chaos
- And more
What’s included: snacks, lunch, and our post‑show AfterGlow—all woven into an experience you won't forget.
Tickets: Early-bird pricing runs through November 6th: $99 general admission, $49 students. Prices go up to $125 and $59 after that. Reserve your seat now.
Be here.
Eleven voices. One day. Two questions worth asking: Do you know where you are? And what could you build once you do?
Reserve your seat before early-bird pricing ends on November 6, and spend January 16 with people who are asking them too.
