Tech Explorers: Basics of MicroBit Technology
This event is for 3rd-5th grade students and will take place at the Paducah Innovation Hub MAKERSPACE located at 500 South 25th Street beginning at 4:00 p.m.
All necessary materials for this class will be provided.
For Students in Grades 3-5
Ready to become a tech detective, engineer, and coder all in one adventure?
Join our exciting Tech Explorers After School Program where students will take a Digital Dive into Technology and discover how the devices they use every day actually work!
What Students Will Do:
- Explore the basics of computer and technology hardware
- Learn about components like processors, sensors, inputs, outputs, and circuits
- Participate in an interactive Micro:Bit Scavenger Hunt
- Solve clues and complete technology challenges
- Learn beginner-friendly coding concepts
- Program a Micro:Bit to perform fun actions such as:
- Flashing LED light patterns
- Displaying messages and images
- Playing sounds and melodies
- Responding to buttons and sensors
Students will develop:
- Problem-solving skills
- Computational thinking
- Creativity
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Confidence with technology
No Experience Needed!
Whether your child is brand new to coding or already loves technology, this hands-on program is designed to be fun, engaging, and accessible for all learners.
Transportation: Transportation is not provided. Please arrange for your student to be transported to the event and picked up at the conclusion of the event. Please accompany your student into the building to sign them in and return to sign them out.

Photo Release: By registering for this class, you acknowledge that your student may have their picture taken and it may appear for promotional purposes in media.
Equipment & Safety: By registering for this class, you acknowledge that your student will be visiting a facility that contains power tools and equipment and that your student will follow all instructions from their facilitator on the proper use of equipment.
