About this Event
Tea and Textiles is open to anyone who is passionate about textiles, whether that be weaving, sewing, knitting or more. The group is relaxed and informal and everyone is welcome to participant as much or as little as they would like.
The afternoon is an opportunity to meet with like minded people and be inspired. We usually share about different projects people have been working on as well as discuss about any exhibitions or events people may have been to recently. We often then hear from a textile artist or group of makers about their practices.
The session is hosted by Agnis Smallwood, Sunny Bank Mills weaving tutor. She has many years of experience facilitating workshops and is passionate about enabling communities of people to come together to share traditional craft skills and textile knowledge.
Tea and Textiles is free to attend, you just pay for any cake and refreshments you might like. The group is suitable for beginners and beyond. We meet in the Finishing Room each month. The group itself is free but booking a ticket helps us know how many people we can anticipate coming each month.
