Join Hamish Crimp for a stroll along the historic lower Te Hēnui Awa. Explore the area’s rich history of seaside recreation, its past use as a rifle range, as a site of industry, and of Māori settlement.Learn about notable past residents, the 1900s railway deviation works, and efforts to bridge the Te Hēnui Awa from the 1840s. The journey will finish at the 1845 Te Hēnui Vicarage.
