Strong sales don't guarantee a healthy business. Many owners discover this only when payroll arrives before customer payments do, or when an unexpected expense exposes a funding gap.
In this workshop, a TD small business banking representative will walk owners through seven connected foundations:
- legal structure,
- banking,
- payment collection,
- contingency planning,
- cash flow,
- financing,
- and a business plan that guides decisions.
Participants will learn why sales and profit do not equal available cash, and how regular reviews, forecasts, and stress tests help them anticipate payroll pressures, collection delays, and funding shortfalls before they become emergencies. The session also explains how to match financing to a specific need and a credible repayment plan, so borrowing strengthens the business rather than adding risk.
Throughout, the presenter draws on what banking relationships look like in practice, including the account structures, cash management tools, and lending conversations that support healthy growth.
