A celebration of ancestry, renewal, and new beginnings.
Long ago, according to one Hmong folktale, a great flood swallowed the earth. A brother and sister survived inside a wooden drum, carried by the rising waters until it struck the heavens.
NDOO NDONG! NDOO NDONG!
Hearing the sound, the sky people pierced the earth, allowing the waters to recede. The survivors returned to land, and from their descendants, the story tells of the beginnings of the Hmong clans.
Taste of the Mountain begins where the waters recede.
Hmong New Year, known as Noj Peb Caug, is a time to honor ancestors, give thanks for the harvest, reconnect with loved ones, and welcome a new chapter.
Inspired by these traditions, Sen Kava and La Fonda invite you to an intimate evening of Hmong food, folklore, and shared intentions.
Through a thoughtfully curated dining experience, we celebrate the stories passed down through generations and the beauty of beginning again.
This gathering also marks a new chapter for Sen Kava and La Fonda. Together, we set an intention to create a space for nourishment, creativity, cultural exchange, and meaningful human connection.

- Reservations: Ticket sales close on the day of the event to allow for final food preparation.
- Refunds: Refundable up to 7 days before the event. All sales are final thereafter.
