Hosted by the St. George’s Catholic Women’s League
Join us for a wonderful morning of food, fellowship, learning and reflection at our annual Taste & See Women’s Breakfast!
Our breakfast is always fantastic, featuring a delicious variety of homemade dishes prepared with care and served with lots of hospitality.
Guest Speaker: Donna Aldous
Donna will speak with us about sex trafficking awareness, helping us better understand human trafficking and the ways we can become more aware of this important issue in our communities.
Donna (Broderick) finished high school in Assiniboia in 1966. She married Barry Aldous from Coronach and they lived in Regina until 1976 when they moved north to Meadow Lake. 42 years later, they moved to Saskatoon to retire. Hearing a guest at a Catholic Women’s League meeting speak about the present day slavery of Human Trafficking she knew there must be more public awareness of what an average citizen could do to fight human trafficking. And that was the beginning of St Anne’s Saskatoon CWL Human Trafficking Awareness Program.
❤️ Red Sand Ceremony
We will also take part in an interactive Red Sand Ceremony, an art initiative designed to raise awareness about human trafficking and human exploitation. The bright red grains of sand represent people who “fall through the cracks” of social, economic and political systems—people who can become unseen or overlooked victims of trafficking.
This will be a meaningful opportunity to learn, reflect, and stand together in awareness and compassion.
Come enjoy a wonderful breakfast, meet some great women, and take part in an important conversation.
Everyone is welcome!
