🔮 TAROT AFLOAT — LEARN TO READ TAROT
Lady D & Scott William Archer • Interactive Tarot Workshop • Live Demonstrations • Guided Practice
Sunday 22 November 2026 | 4pm–7pm | Aboard MV Calmer | Newcastle Harbour
🃏 IMPORTANT — BRING YOUR OWN TAROT DECK
We strongly recommend purchasing a Gilded Tarot Mini Royale deck and bringing it with you to the workshop.
Having your own deck will allow you to follow along with Lady D and Scott throughout the presentation, handle the cards yourself and participate fully in the practical reading exercises.
Using the same style of deck as the facilitators can also make it much easier for beginners to follow the demonstrations and identify the cards being discussed.
If you already own another tarot deck that you love, you're welcome to bring that instead — but for those purchasing their first deck specifically for this event, we recommend the Gilded Tarot Mini Royale.
🔮 Ever Wondered How to Actually Read Tarot Cards?
You've seen the cards.
You've heard about The Fool, The Lovers, The Tower and the mysterious Major Arcana.
But how does someone actually take a collection of individual cards and turn them into a meaningful tarot reading?
This time, you're going to learn how.
Step aboard MV Calmer for an interactive three-hour Tarot Workshop Cruise on Newcastle Harbour hosted by Lady D and Scott William Archer.
Rather than simply sitting back and watching a reading, this experience takes you behind the cards.
Lady D and Scott will introduce you to the foundations of tarot, demonstrate how readings are constructed and then guide you through practical exercises where you'll begin interpreting and reading the cards yourself.
No previous tarot experience is required.
Absolute beginners are very welcome.

🃏 PART ONE — UNDERSTANDING THE CARDS
The afternoon begins with the foundations.
Lady D and Scott will introduce you to the structure of a tarot deck and help take away some of the mystery surrounding the cards.
You'll explore topics including:
The Major Arcana
Discover the major archetypes and themes represented throughout the tarot journey.
The Minor Arcana
Learn how the four suits relate to different areas of life and experience.
Numbers & Court Cards
Understand some of the patterns that can help make a seemingly complicated tarot deck much easier to interpret.
Imagery & Symbolism
Learn to look beyond memorised definitions and start noticing the visual clues contained within the cards.
Intuition
Explore how traditional card meanings, imagery and your own intuitive responses can work together during a reading.
You do not need to memorise 78 cards before you can begin learning tarot.
The aim of this workshop is to give you a practical foundation that you can continue developing after the cruise.
🔮 PART TWO — WATCH A TAROT READING COME TOGETHER
Next, Lady D and Scott will demonstrate how a tarot reading actually works.
Rather than simply giving a reading, they'll take you through the process.
You'll see how a reader:
✨ approaches a question
✨ selects an appropriate spread
✨ begins interpreting the cards
✨ considers the position of each card
✨ connects individual cards together
✨ recognises patterns and themes
✨ combines traditional meanings with intuition
✨ develops the cards into an overall story
This is your opportunity to see what is happening behind the reading, rather than simply hearing the final interpretation.
✨ PART THREE — NOW IT'S YOUR TURN
Then the cards come to you.
Guests will begin working through guided exercises using their own tarot decks.
Lady D and Scott will help you start with simple interpretations before progressing into practical readings.
You'll have the opportunity to work with another guest and practise putting what you've learned into action.
One person becomes the reader.
The other becomes the querent.
Then you'll swap.
Lady D and Scott will move throughout the group, offering guidance, answering questions and helping when you're not quite sure what a card — or combination of cards — might be telling you.
The purpose isn't to become an expert tarot reader in three hours.
It's to give you the knowledge and confidence to start reading the cards for yourself.
🔮 MEET YOUR FACILITATORS
✨ Lady D
Psychic Medium • Astrologer • Intuitive Reader
Lady D is an experienced psychic medium and astrologer who incorporates mediumship, psychic insight, astrology and intuitive reading into her work.
With years of experience delivering private readings, psychic parties, workshops, group platform readings and larger events, Lady D brings a warm, engaging and intuitive approach to the afternoon.
For Tarot Afloat, Lady D will help guests explore the intuitive side of tarot — looking beyond individual card definitions and learning how imagery, symbolism and intuition can contribute to a reading.
✨ Scott William Archer
Psychic Medium • Clairvoyant • Platform Medium • Spiritualist Minister
Scott William Archer is an experienced psychic and platform medium whose work incorporates clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience and claircognizance alongside mediumship.
Scott has spent many years within the Spiritualist community and also brings decades of professional entertainment and stage experience to his work.
His engaging presentation style, natural humour and extensive experience working with audiences make him an ideal guide for newcomers learning to approach tarot in a relaxed and practical environment.
🃏 DO I NEED ANY TAROT EXPERIENCE?
No.
This workshop has been specifically designed so that someone who has never read a tarot card before can participate.
If you've already experimented with tarot, you'll also have the opportunity to build on your existing knowledge and ask questions throughout the workshop.
The important thing is simply to arrive curious and ready to participate.
🃏 WHAT TAROT CARDS SHOULD I BRING?
We strongly recommend purchasing a Gilded Tarot Mini Royale deck before the event and bringing it with you.
Having your own deck means you'll be able to:
✔ Follow along during demonstrations
✔ Find and examine the cards being discussed
✔ Participate in practical exercises
✔ Conduct your own practice reading
✔ Continue practising at home after the workshop
You're welcome to bring another tarot deck if you already have one you prefer.
Please do not arrive expecting an individual private tarot reading. This is an interactive teaching and workshop experience.
🔮 WHAT WILL I ACTUALLY LEARN?
By the end of the workshop, you should have a much better understanding of:
✔ How a tarot deck is structured
✔ Major versus Minor Arcana
✔ The significance of tarot suits
✔ Numbers and Court Cards
✔ How to approach a tarot question
✔ Basic tarot spreads
✔ How to interpret an individual card
✔ How cards influence one another
✔ How to recognise themes within a spread
✔ How to combine traditional meanings with imagery and intuition
✔ How to begin conducting a simple tarot reading
Most importantly, you'll have actually had the opportunity to practise reading tarot, rather than simply listening to someone talk about it.
