Tanjeryne:As a singer-songwriter who has emerged from Edmonton, Alberta’s vibrant music scene, Tanjeryne offers a timeless sound that blends classic country with hints of jazz, soul and folk-pop. Her latest collection, Leather & Denim, is her most compelling yet, produced by Mallory Chipman and featuring some of the city’s most accomplished musicians. After teasing the album in 2025 with the wistful single “Storyteller,” Tanjeryne shared another preview in June 2026 with the cheeky “God’s Problem,” on which she boldly embraces her perceived shortcomings. With the acoustic duo The Western Thistles featured on the track, “God’s Problem” is a shining example of Tanjeryne’s distinctive musical vision, putting a modern spin on traditional folk styles.A deeper listen to Leather & Denim reveals a nostalgic feel and further messages of women’s empowerment that reflect our times. “City Girls,” the album’s second single, is one such song, with its smoky atmosphere accentuated by Dave Babcock’s sultry saxophone.Tanjeryne draws influence from Lana Del Rey, Norah Jones and her first musical heroine, Linda Ronstadt. Leather & Denim marks a major step in her evolution, with more open lyrical expression and a more organic overall sound.

Brooke Taylor:Often described as an old soul in a young, classically trained body, Brooke Taylor is a singer-songwriter whose poetic storytelling and bewitching vocals draw from the worlds of outlaw country, western folk, and dark Americana. Raised on the Alberta prairies and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Taylor brings a distinctly northern perspective to the sounds and stories of the American South.
Raised by rock ’n’ roll-loving, free-spirited parents, Taylor’s influences extend well beyond country music. A portion of her childhood spent in Bali, Indonesia, introduced her to mantra music, full moon ceremonies, and meditation—experiences that continue to shape her creative world and spiritual outlook.
Her sound marries the timelessness of western folk with the darker, more sensual side of Americana, threaded with a mystical, witchy sensibility that carries through both her music and visual identity. Drawing from the landscapes of her upbringing and the mythology of the American West, Taylor writes candidly about the American dream, northern prairie life, adolescence, love, and the search for something deeper. Rooted in tradition but unafraid of the unconventional, her music inhabits a world where prairie grit meets mysticism, and country storytelling takes on a darker, more haunting edge.
