About this Event

Join us for an evening with Dr. Naoki Yamamoto, distinguished scholar of Ottoman Sufism and traditional Japanese arts. Drawing from his spiritual journey, Dr. Yamamoto explores how his Japanese roots harmonize with his new faith—revealing the subtle connections between Turkish Sufi spirituality and Japanese aesthetics.

Through the Japanese tea ceremony and Japanese calligraphy, he invites us into a space where spirit of Ihsan and Japanese aesthetics meet: in discipline, harmony, and the quiet pursuit of inner stillness.

As an Assistant Professor at Marmara University and founder of Japanese Islamicate Art, Dr. Yamamoto’s work uniquely bridges the cultural worlds of Türkiye and Japan.
