"Tales from the Taproom" returns for its ninth go-'round at PetSkull Brewing Company! And all of the same, basic rules still apply: no props, no notes, and five minutes (more or less) to tell a favorite true story.And with Thanksgiving being literally one week away from This Slam—sponsored by Seehafer News—taking place from 6-8PM on Thursday, November 19, the theme for this November event, quite naturally, is "Let's Talk Turkey!!"
Pretty much everyone has got a tale to tell from any number of Turkey Day gatherings! Because let's face it—any time that family and/or friends are thrown together in a confined space with an adequate amount of overindulgence and non-stop sporting events being broadcast, something memorable is bound to bubble-up!
You can talk about a ruckus that broke out over who was supposed to bring what or who had the superior Yams-and-mini-marshmallow recipe. Or tell the tale of oppositional political forces thrown together over cornbread stuffing. Or a brew-ha-ha that arose over why one football team rules and another is little more than a dumpster fire! Maybe someone's brother-in-law got so worked up that they tossed the turkey across the room before anyone even got to have a taste! Or tell everyone about the absolute best Friendsgiving ever! Whatever made an impression that you'd like to tell people about!
And as this is an Adults-Only event, nothing is off limits—if you're willing to tell it, it's a story worth hearing.
But, wait! There's more! As if sharing a ripping Turkey Day yarn wasn't motivation enough, PetSkull Paul has generously agreed to provide one gratis beverage to every storyteller that steps up to the mic that evening! Sharing a story and enjoying a free beverage--what could be better!
You don’t have to come to “The Taproom” to tell a story—you can come to just listen, enjoy, and bask in the wonder of communal storytelling. However, should you want to step up to the mic to share a story that fits in with the evening’s theme, sign-up begins at 5:30PM and we’ll fit in as many stories as possible into the allotted time. Five minutes may seem like a lot of time, but it goes by quickly.
