“Visceral and captivating...”Come and experience the voyage of Homer’s Odyssey, live and up close. Vividly brought to life by story-teller Edward Nelson, follow the trials and tribulations of Odysseus and his men as they try to find their way home - in a world they no longer recognise. Timeless themes for a world at sea.
“Better than the film...”
About Edward Nelson:
Edward is graduate of University of Wollongong’s Creative Arts Acting programme (1995). Since then he has gone on to perform in various shows around the world including England, Wales, America, Canada and India. His speciality is using story and facilitation to support leaders and teams through change. His most recent roles before the Odyssey were Henry in Henry V and Oberon in Midsummer Night's Dream.
He returns to his home town of Canberra with his one man show of Homer's Odyssey. He brings this ancient epic to life as a reflection of some of the hardships and the changes we face today.
Currently residing in the United Kingdom, Edward runs his own coaching and storytelling business and partners with a number of consultancies, including Olivier Mythodrama who use Shakespeare for Leadership.
What others are saying about his performance in 2026:
I gained an appreciation for the oral tradition and the power of imagination — which was lacking in the action-packed Hollywood film... A mammoth performance. - RW, 2026
This is better than the film, and several million pounds less... And though the film has brought great attention to the story, a skilled bard like Edward takes us on a journey with Odysseus in quite a different way! - JT, Rites of Passage guide
