National Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, and we're spending it at Caesar Creek.
This is a Mountain Cubs Pedal Party, which means the kids set the pace and the adults follow. Short, easy sections of trail. Frequent stops. Nobody counting miles. If your kid rides a hundred yards, gets excited about a log, and wants to ride the same hundred yards four more times, that counts as a great day.
Every kid rides with a parent or guardian. Ride leaders run point and sweep, and we regroup constantly. If the bike is in rough shape, take it in for repairs early. Let's not spend the time adjusting derailuers or brakes.
Second half of the weekend for anybody who camped Saturday night. First-timers are just as welcome.
**Intermediate ride:** rolls out at 12:30 and rides until 2:30 for adults and older kids who want real miles after the Pedal Party wraps.
**Bring:** kid's bike, helmet (required for everyone), water, and more snacks than you think you need.
