Discover the benefits of reading at the Amsterdam Free Library.Tail Waggin' Tutors is designed to help kids in grades K-5 developing their reading skills by reading aloud to one of our three visiting therapy dog friends! Reading aloud to animals is shown to help improve a child's literacy in a variety of areas, including reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence. Abracadabra, Manny and Moonbeam will offer patient listening, help reduce the reader's stress and fear of mistakes, and help foster a new love of reading in even the most reluctant readers.
Tail Waggin' Tutors is held on the second Monday of every month.
Tail Waggin' Tutors will be on pause during July and August.
