We’ll still have our regular potting up going in our Native Nursery. This is a relaxing, feel good activity. Come along to learn, try something new and have fun. Get your hands in the soil and enjoy a conversation across the potting table.
In addition to this we’ll also have a fit & keen team heading into the hills to learn about controlling invasive plant species – namely Old Mans Beard. You’ll get a chance to catch a ride on the LUV (light utility vehicle), high into the hills of the forest farm offering a different perspective to the space and learning a new skill!
As usual, we’ll start with a karakia [blessing] at 9.30am, and finish up around 1pm, with a shared kaputī [a cuppa] and a snack together somewhere in the middle. Coffee, tea and some kai [food] provided. If you have abundance to share, contributions to the kai table are most welcome too.
What to bring: weather appropriate gear, water bottle, hat, your mates, your whānau, keen energy, clothes you don’t mind getting a bit soily and sturdy footwear.
Working with us supports a critical stage of tree establishment and pest plant removal, helping protect local wai [waterways], native ngāhere [forests], and the taonga of Aotearoa.
Any questions, reach out. All welcome, family friendly. Look forward to seeing you there. Nau mai haere mai <3
