A glimpse of elegance from the 1910s ✨Our March Ko te Kākahu o te Marama / Outfit of the Month is a beautifully detailed cream cotton muslin dress, featuring a scalloped embroidered collar, crochet-ball buttons, and delicate floral and lace detailing.
This graceful garment belonged to Annie Randal of 'Titchfield', Aramoho — part of a remarkable collection of 88 items connected to her life in Whanganui. Through her wardrobe, we catch a glimpse of garden parties, community gatherings, and the skilled dressmakers who shaped local fashion in the early 20th century.
Join Kaihāpai Taonga/Curator, Fashion and Textiles, Stephanie Wood, as she shares the story behind this exquisite piece and the woman who wore it.
👗The dress will remain on display throughout March.
