Join us at East Cloud Kungfu for a special two-day workshop with Master Lei Guo, dedicated to the practice and application of Tai Chi Push Hands!While our previous workshop focused on Tai Chi forms, this workshop will focus on partner drills, pushing hands techniques, and the internal principles of Tai Chi in practice.
Push hands offers practitioners an opportunity to explore how Tai Chi works through direct interaction with a partner, developing sensitivity, balance, timing, and the ability to respond to changing movement.
What We’ll Explore
Separating Yin and Yang: Understanding full and empty, yielding and issuing, and how these qualities shift during interaction.
Using the Dan Tian: Exploring how to coordinate movement and power through the body’s center.
Applying Yi (Intent): Understanding how intention guides movement and technique.
Push Hands Drills and Techniques: Developing sensitivity, balance, timing, and responsive movement through partner practice.
About Master Lei Guo
Dr. Guo began studying Tai Chi in 1990, training in Chen-style Tai Chi before advancing his studies under a direct disciple of the renowned Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang. Since relocating to the United States in 1998, he has taught Tai Chi at universities and in local communities. He also practices and teaches Yang-style Tai Chi and has won multiple tournament championships in both Tai Chi forms and push hands competitions.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from an experienced practitioner and deepen your understanding of Tai Chi beyond solo training.
