About this Event
Tai Chi is a moving meditation whose postures stem from ancient Chinese martial arts. Today, it is practiced around the world as an effective exercise for balance, strength, and overall well-being. The gentle, low-impact classes will step you through the slow, flowing movements of the Wu Style Short Form (a 3-5 minute sequence with a total of 16 postures).
In this beginner 6-week session, you will:
● learn the first seven postures of the short form,
● work on foundational body alignments, and
● incorporate some of the core principles of Tai Chi.
Complimentary Chai Tea will be available at the cafe after each class.
The classes will be held at An Unlikely Story on Wednesday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m. on the following dates:
● 9/16
● 9/23
● 9/30
● 10/7
● 10/14
● 10/21
No prior registration is required to attend the first class on 9/16. Come try it out! Registration to continue the full 6-week $80 session ends on 9/23 at 11:59pm.

About the Instructor
Tai Chi and Chi Gung have been part of Mary Landry’s life for more than 30 years. What started as a diversion from a stressful time in her life has led to in-depth explorations of the healing energy arts through teacher training, Shiatsu Acupressure and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and most recently, End-of-Life Doula work. It has provided her with the tools to flow with life’s challenges and the knowledge to teach others how to do the same.
