About this Event
RV parks are one of the more interesting corners of real estate right now. Some guests stay for a weekend, some stay for a season, and some live there full time. That mix makes them part hospitality and part housing, and a very different kind of deal to find, build and operate.
This month, McKay Quinn, founder of Dwell Outdoor Hospitality, walks us through how his family business does it. Dwell develops, rehabs and manages RV parks across Utah, Arizona and Wyoming, including Nine Mile RV Resort in Wellington, the Green River KOA, Dwell Lake Havasu, and three long-term RV communities in Littlefield, Arizona.
What we'll get into:
- How McKay picks sites for new parks, and what makes a location work
- What it takes to buy an older RV or mobile home park and bring it back
- The difference between a destination RV resort and a long-term RV community, and why Dwell runs both
- What operating one of these properties looks like day to day, from staffing to pricing to keeping sites full
- Why McKay sees long-term RV living as part of the answer to housing affordability
In his own words, McKay is a construction manager by training, a developer by experience, and an operator by necessity. That combination is exactly why this one will be useful, whether you build, invest, lend or manage. Full bio below.

McKay Quinn, Founder, Dwell Outdoor Hospitality
McKay describes himself as a construction manager by training, a developer by experience, and an operator by necessity. All three show up in his work at Dwell.
He studied construction management at BYU, then earned his Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Utah in 2020. Before Dwell, he held development roles at PEG Development, Crescent Communities and Dart Interests.
Today he runs Dwell Outdoor Hospitality, a family business that develops, owns and manages RV parks and self storage. The portfolio spans Utah, Arizona and Wyoming and includes ground-up builds like Nine Mile RV Resort in Wellington, rehabs like the Green River KOA, and long-term RV communities in Littlefield, Arizona. Dwell also manages parks for other owners.
McKay works where multifamily housing and hospitality meet, building places people visit for a weekend and places they live for years. He sees long-term RV living as part of the answer to housing affordability, and he's happy to talk through why.
