About this Event
Taboos Live Music Show is back this 5th of March 2026 at The Star in Shoreditch. Get set for night of dynamic new music from some of the UK’s most exciting emerging talents.
Praised by David “The Kid” Jensen of BBC Radio 1 and Top of the Pops as having “an authentic and original sound… a great prospect,” Will Purdue is carving out his own lane in the world of Alt-Country.
Drawing inspiration from the rich storytelling and raw spirit of Americana and alternative rock, Will blends his influences into a sound that feels both classic and refreshingly personal. His music leans into atmosphere and emotion, shaped by the artists who first sparked his love for the genre — two of whom he has even had the chance to support live.
His EP “____” channels the stark, honest spirit of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, featuring four alt-country tracks built around stripped-back arrangements. Recorded at Church Studios in London, the project focuses on the essentials — acoustic guitar, violin, and pedal steel — allowing the songs and their stories to breathe.
Singer-songwriter Malia Reys is an artist steadily rising into her moment. With the release of her EP Broken Records, she opens the door to a deeply personal world, pouring raw emotion into standout tracks like “Jealous” and “Like a Poem.”
Through silky, captivating vocals and introspective lyricism, Malia creates music that feels intimate yet expansive — the kind that pulls listeners into every feeling, every story, and every note. Let Malia Reys take you somewhere deeper, where vulnerability meets melody and every song feels like a moment suspended in time.
NIVMH makes music for overthinkers, night owls, and anyone who’s ever felt slightly out of place. With a stripped-back, DIY approach, their sound lives in the space between quiet vulnerability and emotional honesty.
Built from late-night thoughts, small details, and moments most people keep to themselves, NIVMH turns introspection into something you can hear and feel. Each song unfolds like a quiet confession — raw, reflective, and deeply human.
Saishri Cappel is an Indo-German singer-songwriter simply trying to figure life out — and inviting you along for the journey.
With heartfelt storytelling and a warm, acoustic-driven sound, she blends introspective folk with subtle touches of her Indian heritage. Imagine the spirit of The Lumineers, reimagined through the voice of a solo female artist, carrying both vulnerability and quiet strength in every song.
Her music feels honest and unfiltered — part reflection, part discovery — capturing the beauty of growing, questioning, and finding your place in the world
