About this Event
Grass Roots is a monthly live music event which is fully dedicated to supporting young and emerging London-based jazz artists. It takes place at the CLF Art Lounge's Pop Up space in Peckham, South London on the first Thursday of the month.
For the month of April, we shine the spotlight on Open Your Mouth! - a well-oiled jazz fusion music machine which churns out an assortment of multi-rhythmic riffs, harmonious grooves and eccentric audio samples.
Fronted by pianist Jack Williams, this trio marvellously meshes jazz with sprinklings of prog rock, classical and other complementary styles and sounds. Open Your Mouth!'s influences include Wayne Shorter, Keith Jarrett, Tigran Hamasyan and Knower. Jack will be ably accompanied by Benjamin Crane on bass and Filippo Galli on drums.
You'll find the venue inside Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts (or Mountview for short) on the ground floor and next to the main entrance. It is also behind Peckham Library and a 10-minute walk from Peckham Rye station.
