Syria, from the coast to the south : a fundraiser by RAFI

This fundraiser is to support the production of two documentaries about politically pressured areas in post-Assad Syria.

Curated in Damascus, SY by Syrian film maker Kinan Hlal and producer Humam Tadmori and organized in Amsterdam by Sarjon Azouz and RAFI , we are excited to present exclusive proof of concept materials of the two local films in the making.

Documenting the stories of Syrian Alawait communities in the coast and Druze in the south, the areas wherein the films are produced have faced massacres and political unrest since the fall of Assad regime, with little to no media coverage and a lot of propaganda, documentary makers like Kinan and Ashraf carry the heavy weight and responsibility to document the lives and stories of their community’s survival.

We will raise funds by offerring a full Syrian dinner, followed by the screening with a Q&A . There will be drinks and time to talk afterwards.

The money raised will be used to cover the production costs of the films.
