About this Event
Calvary Baptist Church of Denver and St Paul Center for Music and the Arts partner to present GAMUT Concerts.
The vision of GAMUT is to perform music of under-represented composers alongside the great classical composers. “Gamut” stems from medieval music theory and reflects our collaboration with the St Paul early keyboard collection to perform a full range of ancient and new music. For our third season We’re thrilled to continue our pay-as-you-wish model for all concerts and subscriptions, making exceptional music accessible to everyone. As a donor-driven organization, your support is vital.
We believe that a concert with live passionate musicians and a deeply engaged audience creates a potent invitation to experience the beloved presence of the Divine. This beleif grows out of the values taught at Calvary Baptist: welcome all, be closed to none--all deserve to experience the beloved care of the Divine. In our musical programming we aim to offer "a seat at the table" to under-represented composers and those who can't afford expensive live music experiences.
For this solo piano program principal organist and pianist of Calvary Baptist Church of Denver, Jerimiah Otto explores the worlds of three composers not often heard in the same program: Scott Joplin, Duke Ellington and Ludwig van Beethoven.
