In this time of climate change, research tracking changes in the wildlife we interact with and informing us of the health and other impacts of these changes is hugely important. In this talk, Agustin Jimenez, SIU Associate Professor, School of Biological Sciences, will present on armadillos and the parasites that hitchhike with their hosts northward and will share with us the effects of the nine-banded armadillo in the expansion of Neotropical parasites across North America. With changing environments altering the chance of infections in mammals from parasites, his research findings help enumerate factors that may explain infection and its transmission. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.
