Suzi Banks is a loving wife, devoted mother of five, longtime Applebee’s employee, and the kind of friend who always shows up for others. Sixteen years ago, Suzi fought hormonal breast cancer and won. Now, her breast cancer has returned and metastasized to her bones. She has begun radiation, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy while facing the uncertainty of how treatment will affect her day-to-day life.Even as she walks through this difficult chapter, Suzi is doing everything she can to continue working and maintain the health insurance she needs. But insurance does not make cancer affordable. The costs of diagnostic testing, appointments, and treatments are quickly adding up, and the possibility of lost income if she is unable to work is creating an additional financial burden.
Every donation from the bake sale and raffle will provide direct support for Suzi’s cancer-related expenses, including medical appointments, diagnostic testing, treatments, medications, transportation, and everyday bills that become harder to manage when illness limits her ability to work. Your contribution—whether large or small—can help keep essential care within reach, reduce the financial pressure on Suzi and her family, and give her more time and energy to focus on treatment and healing.
