Boulder Symphony & Music Academy and Wild Heart Dance join forces for Swan Lake Reimagined, an evening where live symphonic music and contemporary dance come together on the Chautauqua Auditorium stage.
At the heart of the program is Tchaikovsky’s beloved Swan Lake, reimagined through original choreography by Wild Heart Dance and performed with Boulder Symphony’s professional musicians live on stage.
The evening also looks beyond Tchaikovsky with two new works by Colorado composers as part of Boulder Symphony’s Living Composer’s Project with CU School of Music. Minoo Dixon’s Moon Rabbit draws inspiration from Korean folklore and the story of a rabbit whose act of sacrifice carries it to the moon, while Aric Vyhmeister’s Trial of the Gods explores the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche, a story of love, trials, transformation, and redemption.
Together, these works create an evening of music, movement, myth, and transformation, bringing together two of Boulder’s vibrant performing arts organizations for a unique collaboration at the historic Chautauqua Auditorium.
