Mewn byd ansicr a chyfnewidiol sy'n cael ei nodweddu gan fygythiadau newid hinsawdd, anghydraddoldeb a rhwygiadau cymdeithasol, mae UNESCO yn pwysleisio bod angen i addysg baratoi dysgwyr i adeiladu cymdeithasau cyfiawn, heddychlon a chydnerth.
Mae addysg heddwch yn cefnogi dysgwyr i:
- Ymdrin â gwrthdaro mewn ffordd gadarnhaol
- Datblygu sgiliau pwysig ym meysydd cyfathrebu, meddwl yn feirniadol a datrys problemau – sgiliau sy'n hanfodol ar gyfer ffurfio a chynnal perthnasoedd cadarnhaol
- Dysgu am eu cyd-destun neu eu ‘cynefin’ a’i ddeall, gan gynnwys y rhai sydd wedi ymgyrchu dros heddwch, cyfiawnder a chydraddoldeb
- Deall a datblygu gwerthoedd dynol pwysig fel empathi, parch a chydweithredu
- Dod yn ddinasyddion lleol a byd-eang gweithredol sy'n gwybod sut i gydweithredu ag eraill i greu newid.
Bydd y diwrnod rhyngweithiol hwn yn rhoi trosolwg o sut i ddatblygu addysg heddwch yn eich ysgol, yn unol â chwricwlwm Cymru. Dewch i ddysgu am fentrau, methodolegau ac adnoddau a fydd yn eich galluogi i ddatblygu'r sgiliau a'r cymwyseddau uchod yn eich dysgwyr.
Yn ystod y diwrnod, byddwn yn cynnwys enghreifftiau o ysgolion yng Nghymru sydd eisoes yn datblygu fel ysgolion heddwch, ac yn rhannu dolenni i adnoddau dwyieithog am ddim.

In an uncertain and changing world characterised by the threats of climate change, inequality and social fragmentation UNESCO emphasises that education needs to prepare learners to build just, peaceful and resilient societies.
Peace education supports learners to:
- Deal with conflict positively
- Develop important communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills – vital for forming and maintaining positive relationships
- Learn about and understand their context or ‘cynefin’, including those who have campaigned for peace, justice and equality
- Understand and develop important human values such as empathy, respect and cooperation
- Become active local and global citizens who know how to cooperate with others to create change.
This interactive day will provide an overview of how to develop peace education in your school, in line with the Welsh curriculum. Come and learn about initiatives, methodologies and resources which will enable you to develop the above skills and competencies in your learners.
During the day we will include examples from schools in Wales that are already developing as peace schools and provide links to free bilingual resources.
