About this Event
The Thriving, Inclusive and Sustainable Places conference will explore how interdisciplinary research and collaboration can help create thriving, inclusive and environmentally sustainable places.
Bringing together perspectives on people, nature, infrastructure, policy and innovation, it will examine how places can respond to interconnected social and environmental challenges while ensuring that transitions are fair, relevant and practically deliverable. The conference will be organised around three key themes:
- People asks who places are for and what enables people, nature and communities to thrive.
- Resilient and Ultra Low Carbon Places asks how the physical and institutional systems underpinning places need to change at scale.
- Future Economies asks whether markets can deliver a just and sustainable transition.
Our confirmed speakers include: Dr Nimesh Dhungana, Professor Frank Geels, Dr Gaurav Gharde, Dr Aarti Krishnan, Professor Sherilyn MacGregor, Professor Carly McLachlan, Dr Magdalena Rodekirchen and Dr Ghada Soliman.
More speakers to be announced shortly.
