About this Event
The Youth Forum is for 16–25 year olds who want to help influence youth action at Sussex Wildlife Trust.
Join us on Friday 6th November, 10:30am–11:45am at The Keep, Brighton, or online, to share ideas and make plans for real action for wildlife in Sussex.
You don't need any experience! Just come along and share your thoughts, meet like-minded people and see what ways you can get involved to help nature and wildlife in Sussex.
What's this Youth Forum about?
Sussex is set to gain a directly elected Mayor as part of the new devolution arrangements for Sussex and Brighton. The Mayor will have influence over key areas including transport, housing, skills, economic development and the environment.
At Sussex Wildlife Trust, we believe that nature needs a strong voice in decision-making. During this Youth Forum, we'll begin exploring:
- What the new Sussex Mayor role means for young people and nature
- Why environmental issues should be a priority for future candidates
- How young people can influence decision-makers
- Creating a"Vote for Nature" campaign encouraging young voters to support candidates who champion wildlife and the environment
We're delighted to be joined by Henri Brocklebank, one of Sussex Wildlife Trust's Directors, who will provide more information about the upcoming mayoral election and help us start thinking about what a youth-led campaign could look like.
Youth Forum sessions are relaxed, welcoming and creative, with space to discuss what matters to you and turn ideas into action.
